Making Peace With Prior Purchases

My closet isn't a perfect closet. I don't absolutely adore everything I own nor is my entire closet full of luxurious organic materials that get softer and better every wash. Instead, my closet has its fair share of cheaper synthetics. I don't wear everything. But it's a reflection of my style the past decade. Lots of memories.
I don't want to start with a blank slate. I have invested thousand of dollars into what I already own. Plus, even if the garments aren't he most environmentally friendly, I can make them as sustainable as possible by extending their life. My priority is using the clothes I already have, caring for them, and then gifting or selling them when they no longer have a home here.
I will be more strict with new purchases. But for what I already have, I am going to choose gratitude and be thankful for what I have, not upset that I maybe didn't make the most mindful and conscientious choice I the past.
